Really nice little Italian spot, small but super cozy and romantic, with dimmed lighting that sets the vibe just right. We had everything to share, which was perfect since the portions were a good size and let us enjoy a bit of everything. Dinner was really good overall. The carpaccio was a standout, definitely recommend trying it. The onion soup was okay, but the other dishes were packed with interesting flavor combos and really well done. The timing of each dish was perfect, and the service was great, our waitress was super friendly. A lovely place for a dinner out.
A pure delight nestled in the streets of Petit Champlain in Old Quebec. Va Bene is the perfect space to feel like you’re still within your surroundings without feeling overwhelmed. With that note, a reservation is well recommended as this restaurant is curated to be smaller that what you might expect, adding to its charm. The menu is a well concise list of Italian fare that gives you many options without leading you in too many directions because everything is so good. We started with Antipasto, for which they have different selections based on your preference, a special mention to the fried Parmesan bites. The top notch pasta is handmade, and the ingredients were cooked with so much flavour that you know can only be found by a family based recipe. The only thing we didn’t order was dessert, merely for the reason that we were appropriately full, however I suggest a glass of Porto while you sit and digest Molto Bene
We were very lucky we found this place near the funicular place. The food are great. Especially the tiramisu! Very authentic.
The decor of the place was perfect and so was the food! I'm usually not a big fan of pesto, but the pesto dish I had was to die for. All of us cleaned our plates. Dessert was great too, we had a tiramisu made the way the chef's Nonna used to make it. It even had a little note from Nonna. It felt so intimate and special. Service was awesome. We spent about 70/person, but that's only cuz we got a bottle of wine. You could get out at a minimum of like 40/person. Highly recommend!
The food was amazing- we had the cheese antipasto, the carpaccio and their specialty pasta made in Parmesan wheel. Excellent. The service was great- our server explained the menu and offered us a special birthday dessert. The location is in a charming part of the old city. It’s a very lovely place.
Small but very cozy place. The food was awesome. Service was amazing. We haven't a reservation but they sit us anyway.
I was amazed with the Vitello tonnato, a beautiful and flavorful apertizer to start the dinner. Service was good too.
Had 3 days in Quebec and started with this Italian Restaurant. We had to sit outside as the restaurant was full but the food was excellent. Shared starter was lovely and my steak with dauphinoise potato was excellent. My wife had lamb with polenta which was also excellent. Slightly expensive at 200 but can thoroughly recommend.
